Overview
This road trip links the main sites of northern and southern Tunisia at your own pace, over 9 days. Three ways to experience it: behind the wheel of your own vehicle, behind the wheel of a rental car (city car, saloon or van depending on the size of the group), or with a driver for an all-comfort option. A detailed roadbook and our accommodation bookings accompany you throughout the journey: Tunis, Carthage and Sidi Bou Said, Cap Bon, Kairouan and the El Jem amphitheatre, Sousse and Monastir, the Berber villages of Tataouine, the island of Djerba, the gates of the Sahara at Douz and Ksar Ghilane, then the oases of Tozeur.

Day by day
- Day 1
Arrival in Tunis, Carthage and Sidi Bou Said
Personal welcome on arrival (airport or meeting point), handover of the rental car or of your roadbook if you are driving your own car. Visit of the ancient site of Carthage, then the white-and-blue village of Sidi Bou Said.

Cap Bon: Kelibia and the Korbous springs
Drive to the Cap Bon peninsula: the Byzantine fortress of Kelibia, local wine tasting, then a stop at the Korbous hot springs.

Kairouan and the El Jem amphitheatre
On to Kairouan, the first holy city of the Maghreb: Great Mosque, Aghlabid basins and medina. Continue to El Jem to visit the Roman amphitheatre, one of the best preserved in the world.

Sousse and Monastir
Visit of the medina of Sousse (UNESCO-listed) and its ribat. Drive to Monastir to discover its 8th-century ribat and its seafront.

Heading south and the Berber villages of Tataouine
Long stage south towards Tataouine. Visit of the troglodyte Berber villages of Chenini and Douiret, perched on their hills.

The island of Djerba
Crossing to the island of Djerba (ferry or Roman causeway). Discover the souks, the potters' village of Guellala and the island's beaches.

Douz and Ksar Ghilane, gateways to the Sahara
Back to the mainland and on to Douz, gateway to the Sahara. Continue to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane and its natural hot springs at the foot of the dunes.

Tozeur and Chott el Djerid
Crossing of Chott el Djerid, the vast salt lake of the desert. Visit of the medina of Tozeur and its ochre brick architecture, close to the mountain oases.

Back to Tunis
Drive back to Tunis (or return the vehicle at the airport). End of the tour.
